Consider reducing the consumption of sugary snacks and beverages, and use straws when consuming foods such as soda and juice, so the sticky sugar will bypass the teeth. It is a good idea to brush and floss your teeth immediately and then perform a good antibacterial mouthwash. The idea here is to prevent sugar residue from remaining in your mouth and feed bacteria, which will allow them to multiply and spread. Eating healthy and fresh food minimizes the chances of accumulating bacteria on your teeth thus prevents you from dental problems.

All of the above are remedies that can help solve problems that have developed, but the best defense is a good offense. Proper dental hygiene habits, including daily brushing and flossing and regular dental checkups, are the optimum ways to keep dental problems at a bay.

Ideally, you should brush and floss your teeth every day before bed, after getting up in the morning, and after each meal. Use a mouthwash at least twice a day to help slow down the occurrence of tooth decay.
